My Approach —
How I work with my clients is part coaching, advisory and mentorship.
As a coach, I partner with you to bring out the best in you, help you generate great ideas, and scale you up as a business leader.
As an advisor, I provide on-the-job support and tactical education, and stand by your side you as you make critical business decisions.
As a mentor, I normalize your challenges and encourage you to find invigorating solutions to the unique challenges that working mothers face in the workplace, and at home.
I have created a unique, fully customized HR Leadership Coaching program that helps you excel in 3 areas:
“Susan has been instrumental in preparing me for this career change that I know will create the lifestyle I desire for me and my family.”
— Sara Wildman, University Educator and Instructional Designer, Campbell, CA
Learn who my ideal clients are —
I work with mid-career moms who are emerging HR leaders (and likely others outside of this specialty) who aspire to get into the C-Suite or have just landed there and are discovering it’s sink or swim.
To my delight, my work has also attracted some women who have chosen not to have kids, and equally desire to increase their impact in a sustainable and heart-centered way.
My best clients value investing in themselves and their future; they see our work together as a pathway to their long-term success and recognize it’s not something they can learn in business school.
My best clients are easy to laugh and bring their whole heart to our work, as a sort of nourishment for their soul.
It helps them cope with the often harsh/soul-crushing realities of corporate life.My best clients want to play a bigger role and have a larger impact in their organization, but they aren’t quite sure how. It’s important for them to have a sense of meaning in their work and challenge old stereotypes of HR.
My best clients want success to feel right, not just look right, in all aspects of their life.
They strive to bring their whole, authentic self to work, want to be efficient, and stay in the game without sacrificing their well-being, health, or family life.
An Important Note: While the majority of HR professionals are women and the coaching field has largely catered to white women, please know that my business is a safe place for all genders and people of color. I have been studying racial and social justice issues and raising my awareness of how to be an anti-racist through my actions. I encourage my clients to integrate current events and cultural, environmental and economic shifts into their work, and that includes Black Lives Matter and Stop AAPI Hate. No matter your gender identity, race, education, financial means or class status you are welcome here. Whether you’re here for the free resources on my blog, my Wisdom Circle community, the occasional free roundtable sessions I lead or you’re ready for coaching closely with me, you are welcome.
